It is supposed to taste like a grape or an apple-y grape. I bought some (they were expensive) and I was disappointed. Maybe it was the store (Safeway). They were in a plastic 4-pack. The Grapples were soft (mushy, so gross!), the skin was sticky and the fruit itself was sweet but not very juicy. I think that I would try them again, but I'd check to be sure that they were fresh (I guess I'd have to stick my finger into the sealed plastic frame). I like my apples firm and juicy. My Grapple experience was neither firm nor juicy (I made apple sauce with the remaining 3 in that 4-pack).

What is a grapple? I have never heard of it. If it is a cross between an apple and a grape, i would think it would be sweet.

They say it's supposed to taste like an apple mixed with a grape, but when I had one, it tasted like a regular apple with some kind of sweet, sugary coating on it that had a VERY slight grapey taste.

It wasn't bad, but I never bought another one again because it didn't seem worth the extra money.

The fruit? It's got the texture and general flavor of an apple, but the aftertaste is grape Kool-aid ish.

take a slice of your favorite kind of apple and let it soak in some 100% natural grape juice for about ten minutes and you have your own (much less expensive) grapple
