If I eat sporadically during the day, like breakfast in the morning and little else later how exactly am I being unhealthy? What damage am I doing to myself by not eating regularily and often?

not eating regularly causes an increase in the catabolic hormone cortisol and also and increase in blood lipids. high levels of blood lipids contribute to cardiovascular disease. not eating regularly causes blood sugar problems which decreases energy levels, mental focus and many other things. it is IMPOSSIBLE to get all of the essential nutrients in 1-2 meals day. with out a doubt you have several nutrient deficiencies which over an extended period of time will lead to health problems that are not reversible.

you were exercising daily you would have a healthy appetite. get off your but!

If you eat a large breakfast, but eat nothing else during the day, you are teaching your body to hold onto calories, which will slow your metabolism and eventually cause you to gain weight. Your body assumes it will only get fed once a day, and so it adjusts by holding onto what little food you do give it. In addition, you probably have a lower energy level than you otherwise would because you are not providing your body with the needed carbs to keep you going. It's best to eat little meals throughout the day.

You aren't getting enough calories or nutrients for your body. Your metabolism will slow, your muscles will use themselves for fuel if it has too. Then you'll burn less calories because you'll have less healthy muscle tissue. You may weigh less but you'll be "skinny fat" no tone. You will have less energy, concentration and be malnourished.

Not a problem, as long as you are getting all the nutritional requirements when you do eat: calories, proteins, vitamins, etc.
