I think for either the best age to start is around 14 or 15. Maybe 13 or older than those but I don't like the idea of 11 year olds dating or anything. I think that the couple should be mature enough before they start dating. It really depends on the person.

Disclaimer---for people who's religion does NOT prohibit dating:
Answer---After Graduating, since you should study and get a lot of rest during college and high school.
Extra---In Boston, people don't start dating until Eighth Grade.
In Houston, people start dating in First Grade! I was really angry at my friends when I found out their first date was in first Grade.
Where would you get the money?
You are right Joe_fleeman! you should be mature enough to date, people who start to date before College can make their lives a mess.

When they are mature enough to understand risks of sexual activity, and can handle a serious relationship. There is no normal age to start dating, but I personally feel that a fifth grader or 9 year old isn't ready to start "seriously dating."

I think that 17 is a good age. You have to remember that girls mature faster than guys and it takes guys a little longer to realize how to be a good date. At 16, everybody's too awkward.

18 for both.
Why 18?
They should be done with school and are mature enough to start dating.By this time they can see the horrible mess their friends who started dating at 11 and 12 on up have made of their lives.

I say after highschool. Because the first part of highschool you can't even drive so what would you do? Then I think you're still not mature enough to have a bf/gf. You probably won't get serious about anything until after highschool anyways. I think it's pointless to have a relationship then, but that's just me.
