You can't add fresh pineapple to jello, but you can add canned.

Fresh pineapple will keep the jello from jelling.
Canned pineapple will work well.

You cannot add fresh pineapple to jello. The enzymes in the fruit juice will prevent the jello from solidifying. =)

There's an enzyme in fresh pineapple that keeps gelatin from setting properly. But you can use canned pineapple, because the heat process used in canning destroys the enzyme.

It is great with stawberry jello. Just make sure the pineapple is well drained. Banana's are good to.

You can only add processed (canned) pineapple to gelatin desserts, as fresh pineapple contains papian, an enzyme that inhibits the "gelling" properties of the gelatin......Hope this helps.........Enjoy!!

all you have to do is be sure the pineapples aren't wet so they will not interfere with the process of the making of the jell-o

I don't see why not. Maybe just make sure it's drained well. Or, even take a paper towel and dry the bits off.

No problem, just drain it first or add a bit of unflavored gelatin to it
