Fasting for Muslims in one month's training of developing spiritual strength and closeness to God. Fasting is acceptable to God only if a person doesn't do any of the following:
1. Prays five times daily prayers.plus additional prayes if possible.
2. Controls himself not only to eat and drink but also not to
lie, cheat, use foul language, be respectable to others, be kind to others, give charity to needy, invite other fast observing members of community, friends and relatives to break fast with our family. This is highly recommended to get blesses of God for feeding others at Fasting break.
No sex with spouse during the fasting time from dawn till sun set. No hugging and kissing to spouse with fast.
Not doing any thing that is considered bad, immoral and
unethical with fasting. During the fast time Muslims do not eat or drink any thing. One can not even have a shot that can given him energy.

Search in the book of Daniel what it is said about the vegetables food.
In every religion we can find fasting. And if we willl be very attentif we'll be amazed that almost all time we would spend doing that.
It is a good healthy way of living. A lot of people are vegetarians as you know :).

It is a way of denying the flesh and glorifying the spirit
You are a spirit temporarily housed inside a body of flesh and blood
Your flesh will perish but your spirit will remain "somewhere" forever

fasting has nothing to do with GOD.if GOD is avalabel through fast then in africa many countries are starving. no body say that that they met GOD when they were dying with hunger.
