In my basement there is a fairly large room that all we have in there is a pool table,a small bar, and a poker table. I want to make this room into a hangout or a party room. Either just to watch some games down there, play some 360, or party. We are gonna put a 42 inch hi-def tv on the wall. One of my friends said that I can have his foosball table, and of course we will put some couches in there. What else can be put in this room to make it the "ultimate hangout" for me and my friends?

You need a small refrigerator just for drinks with a freezer for ice cubes, and you need some cabinets to put every snack imaginable in. I would also put a couple of beanbag chairs on the floor for extra seating. Put a regular table and chairs down there for table games and/or for a laptop computer too. Don't forget you'll want to play music down there, so make arrangements for that. If you have one, I would put a drum set down there, and a guitar. Everyone loves to play drums and guitar, whether they know how to or not. And how about a karaoke machine?

So that the neighbors don't hate you, whenever you have a party, invite them over too.

Dartboards are fun for a quick play.
You might also put a mini fridge and a microwave down there, that will keep people from running up stairs for snacks or cold beer. If you have the $, a shuffleboard table is pretty cool and most people don't have one. Other than that, sounds like you got the set-up man. Can I come over?
