I am working for a guy over the internet. He said he would pay me by check. Does he have to mail it to me or will he be able to e-mail it? We live pretty far away...

It's not possible to email a check. If he pays you by check he'll have to mail it to you.

He has to mail it to you. You did not say what this check was for, but there are some things you need to be aware of.

1. If the check is for more than the amount, and he is requesting you get a money order/MoneyGram and send him the difference it is a SCAM. The check will come back bad and you will be out the money you sent him.

2. If it is for a product, make sure the check is for the exact amount and give it at least 10 business days to clear. Once it does clear then, and only then do you send out the item. Also, send it ONLY to a physical address in the United States and require a signature to provide proof that it was received. A SCAM artist does not like to leave any trails. Having a physical address and signature makes it harder for them to hide. A legitimate person will have no problem with this, a person who is running a scam will.

Email a check? Umm..no....unless it's an e-check and goes through an online bank like Paypal.
