I wanna buy a bigger hdd for my ps3, is their any way i can get the data on my 60 gb hdd transfered to my new one?If so where do i go?

When i back up my data what does it go into? (just asking to see if thats what i have to do to transfer)

Game saves and stuff you can copy to a jump drive or external drive before upgrading your drive. Keep in mind that replacing the hard drive does not void the warranty on your PS3, and you use standard laptop hard drive that's a SATA drive. Once you've got your data copied over to your jump drive or external hard drive then remove the drive, place the new one in place, it'll ask if you want to format the drive, make sure to select yes, and yes again. Once it's formatted the PS3 will reboot, then just copy your game copies and data back to the new hard drive.

In system settings there is an option to backup your data. Us big flash drive, external HDD or memory card to dump it there.
As for new HDD - any SATA 5400RPM 2.5" will work. Slightly faster 7200RPM work too, but Sony recommends 5400RPM.

I don't think you can transfer data on your new platform.

Better do it all over again..
