My 18 month old is very curious and wont stop getting into everything! We have baby proofed our drawers, toilets and outlets but I can't find anything online for floor vents! She keeps pulling them out of the floor! We also need some suggestions as far as high chairs (she can get her tray off and wiggle out of her tight as can be seatbelt) and shoppingcarts which she is now climbing out of as of yesterday and we aren't sure if she is too young for her toddler bed (her crib converts) Our first child never did any of this, so we are challenged! Please help, I don't want my baby safe!

What I did was just tape the vent cover down with masking tape. Sure it looks ugly but at least my baby was SAFE. If you can get a babysitter while you do the shopping, (Thats what dads are for LOL) I stopped using my highchair when they started doing that. Get them use to sitting in a "big" chair. As for the crib try putting it low enough to the floor so she/he can get into it by her/him self. It's the only way to see. Only the baby can tell you if she ready for the bigger things. Whith that the baby may still climb into bed with you because it is a huge transition for her/him.

Can you screw the covers into the floor? They are easy to remove with a screwdriver when they need to be cleaned. As far as the toddler bed, if they are climbing it is more dangerous to have them in the crib because they have a greater height to fall from. Raise your voice when she tries to get out of the cart or her car seat. Kids don't like this. My son tried it a couple of times and now he asks if he can take off his seatbelt when we pull into the driveway. I'm not saying scream at the top of your lungs, but just raising your voice a little gets their attention. Don't leave her alone in the high chair. It might actually be time for a booster chair so she can get in and out on her own. That is about the age my son was when we switched him to his booster.
I can't believe that with the obesity problem that she suggested to feed her every time she is getting into something. If you did this she would weigh 400 pounds by the time she is 10. JEEZ. My son is always getting into things. Discipline is the best route.

My first child did all of this. Just relax. It's perfectly normal for her to check out her physical limits.

I would check to see if Lowes/Home Depot have anything that you can use to screw your vent covers into place. Otherwise, I would just lower the setting, so that as little as possible (heat) is escaping. Which will keep the temperature of the metal to a min.
Also, you could re-decorate for a few weeks. I had tables, chairs and couches in the weirdest places....to keep Abigail off the roof!

Good luck!
Oh, and by the way, a climber and explorer, like yours is likely to try to climb up the front of the TV at some point. It's a very dangerous child-proofing oversight! A little boy died in our town from pulling the TV on top of himself. Just check it out!

Good ol' Duct Tape for the vents, it may look unsightly, but until she's past that stage, it may work. When my kids were maybe 2 & 4, my oldest told my youngest to climb into the vent, which was bigger that usual and just an empty space to the floor below to let heat flow, anyhow, he did, Imagine my surprise when I was sitting on the couch downstairs and he fell thru the ceiling and landed beside me!.. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt. Now they're 13 & 15, and my youngest is still the most daring!
Shopping carts were always scary though, all I can suggest is don't turn your back!

maybe you could try a reward system in the grocery stores? or make her own little food flash cards with pictures cut out of the grocery store flier of foods you usually get to keep her busy.
As far as the highchair goes... does it fit under the lip of your kitchen table? if so put her there and lock the wheels.
NO is the word
for your vent covers you can go to the hardware store and get longer screws and mount them to the floor... duct tape them.

I had a very destructive 18 month old boy about a year and a half ago... i actually had to start him in time outs at this age! Its FAR from easy...he did the grocery cart stunts too.
But we never had a problem in the highchair. I never left him alone though and he always got to business when it was time to eat. Though my 1 year old daughter is showing signs that she hates the highchair... unless of course if its at the table and her brother or myself are sitting with her eating too.

EDIT--- My wild child son (who sounds like your daughter) was put into a twin bed at 19 months old. This went very well. It took a week till he got the concept to stay in bed but once he was there it was great.... till he hit two then we went back to cosleeping for a year... dont you just LOVE all these phases? makes your head spin!

change her to the toddler bed before she gets hurt climbing from the crib (my daughter was out at 18 mos)

as per the floor vents either screw them in or use duct tape on the edges

for high chair how bout just getting rid of it since obviously she doesnt like it and she can easily get hurt getting out of it
try a booster seat that hooks to the chair and dont buckle her in it

baskets let her sit in the cart part rather than the seat part or dont buckle her into it

You don't have to have a rash to have dry itchy skin. Use a sorbolene moisturiser on him at least twice a day (unless it is known to make him itch more). Stop using the bubble bath because no matter how sensitive it is, it still dries skin out. If the sorbolene doesn't make any difference in a couple of days then I would go and see a Doctor just to be sure he is ok.

We had to drill our into the floor because my son would put the car keys down there. But honestly you have to say "NO" in a firm voice and move the child away, keep doing this and they will lose interest.
