They're just so damn pretentious, and they just get under my skin. I need to stop being so negative. I need to respect other people's beliefs. I just can't get over these people...

Don't watch them if they bother you that much. And you aren't going to learn anything from them anyway except how to be overly, nauseatingly dramatic. They are like beggars on the corner with a tin cup, only thing is they have more followers and live high on the hog at other people's expenses.

Yeah, I don't like them either but I also don't watch them ~ lol

My answer is the same as most of the other posters - don't watch them. I don't understand how the media describes them as "charismatic" (personality-wise, at least). I wouldn't want to sit next to one of them on a bus, let alone attend a church where they're honored, even exalted.

Turn off the TV and read the Bible. I don't like the televangelists either, but the Bible is completely different.

You know if you don't want to listen to something you don't have to, what get me on this, you are making a conscious decision to listen to something and then getting upset about it, and yet you are doing it, noone else, you are putting negativity and feeding a fire, If you would open your heart and start using Compassion you might see a new light.

Change the channel. Or learn how to laugh at them instead. My boyfriend always turns on Ernest Angley on Sunday mornings so he can tease me about how I'm going to hell, but he knows I love playing along with it. I just roll my eyes and laugh.

Why not just change the channel? Or better yet not watch TV.
