Do you really believe that evolution suggests that one day an ape gave birth to a human being? Or is that just a strawman?

If it's a strawman, is it a strawman that you use to debunk evolution, or is it a strawman that "evolutionists" use to make your argument look dumb?

Thanks.

I don't think they know what a "strawman" is. Furthermore, I don't think they think about it at all. They haven't researched it. They've read their creationist websites and heard what their pastors had to say. The end.

I think you have to realize, as well as a couple of people who have already answered, that strawman arguments work both ways. Indeed many strawman arguments have been made from both sides, using the same arguments to support each others own side of the argument.

If evolution were indisputable fact, as one answerer indicated, then there would not be any room for discussion. However, evolution has not been 'proven time and again' as it is often said to have been. So the debate rages on. The problem is that bones can be used to support either side of the debate. Also, if you brought a container full of bones from one fossil, and gave it to 10 different biologists, you would get a different make-up from all 10 biologists. So it's hard to believe in it when the people can't seem to get it right.

Evolution actually suggests that our children can be born with a characteristic that never existed in their ancestors. Maybe there nose is slightly bigger or smaller, or a toe is slightly longer or shorter, or the skin is more or less hairy, etc. Over many generations these differences allow a species to have a lot of variety. Some of these attributes make them better at doing certain things.

It is not a sudden change of species, but a contant flow of tiny changes from generation to generation.

I've discussed evolution with many creationists. Their logic and reasoning fly right out the window. They will grasp onto some very shaky explanations.

I accept the theory of evolution, but it does have flaws. How did the fist life form originate? They keep changing the dates in evolution. It is the most viable theory at present.

Laughing at an answer above. Why is it that so many anti-evolutionists can't spell? Coincidence?

Even without the Bible, the resource book of all knowledge,I would still never except evolution. It is a theory for what scientist can not explain. It is not proven fact if that were so we surely would find proof while in the inbetween state and that hasn't happened. You simply can not take a dog and get a cat, maybe sometime in the future who knows? That's my opinion and I am sticking to it,untill I have proof that makes sense.
