How is it that someone who missed 2 court dates is not in jail? He missed his court date for driving without a license and one for a theft sentencing. Over the weekend he was in custody of the police for questioning of a different matter but never arrested for the 2 warrants that he should have on him! Now my sister is on her way to prison bc of things that he put her up too, now she's paying for it! How can he get away with so much? He just got out of prison about a year and a half ago for theft. This is in the state of Ohio.

Over the weekend they got introuble for shoplifting she got arrested he didn't. We've been in contact with a detective that is on one of his cases. He was suppose to be arrested that night for not appearing in court. This guy beats my sister, he busted her head open but she was too scared to turn him in. We believe he threatens her into doing things. She was never like this until she met him! He's just too lazy to get out and work to take care of his family while my sister is in a high risk pregnancy worrying about where they're going to stay!

Trust me, I'm not saying my sister doesn't deserve what she gets bc she does. She'll get what she deserves! They arrested her last night for probation violation, I just can't figure out why he's still out, they know where he is and I let the cops know he missed 2 court dates when I had to pick up their baby over the weekend so he wouldn't go to children services. Beat it all they were on Jerry Springer back in September!

I have followed many of "DavidM's" responses and although he may sound harsh...he tells you like it is!

There is no question in my mind that as an adult...you have to stand up and know to do right or wrong. If you choose wrong...then you have only yourself to blame.

People try to claim somebody's "going to hurt or kill" them if they report something to the police. That's a HUGE misconception borne from fictional television shows and movies. Granted there are remote cases of witness intimidation but the laws are clear on handling those situations as well.

If we as a nation meekly succumb to the thugs of this country...we only have ourselves to blame.

Our forefathers and founding fathers took a stand against tyranny. Those who've fought and died for this nation...did so for us!

I'm not seeking your points on this forum...but feel compelled to enforce what David tells you and also let you know that you should, as a family, pull together to help your sister by keeping her straight from getting involved with such a loser!

I read your other question about your husband's house arrest before reading this question. I was really sorry for you and your husband because I agree with you he probably wasn't out for only 10 minutes at 2 am.

Now, I read you have a sister that's involved with an excon. Why was he still in her life? Especially if he beat her. While you and your husband MIGHT have a chance together in the future, your sister needs to lose her guy and hope she can get through her shoplifting charges without too much harm. As far as the 2 court dates the loser missed, they could be in different jurisdictions or because he was in the station as a Witness, the police didn't check for open warrants. Why don't you let the police know where they can find this loser and that you understand he has open warrants?

I really suspect there is more to this than you are telling us. if the police had him in custody and released him then there is a good chance he appeared before a judge about the warrants.

"Now my sister is on her way to prison bc of things that he put her up too, now she's paying for it!" - He put her up to? That is the biggest cop-out I ever heard. She made the decision to break the law. She is paying the penalty for her actions. She deserves prison twice as much because she did wrong and then tried to excuse her illegal actions by claiming "he put her up to it". No one can put me up to an illegal action. I am smart enough to know that I and I alone am responsible for my actions.

Cops pick and choose how to spend their time. Their services can be accomodated to please the public opinion

If Martha Stewart had missed two court dates, she would not have been given the choice to serve in jail ahead of time
