I am going to answer your first question.

Q. Thinking of converting to catholic???

A. As long as you're thinking about it, also think about a religious organization that tried to cover up molestation of young boys by it's priests. Also think of an organization that has gambling on it's property as a ruse to raise funds for it's "work". There is so much hypocrisy there Chelsey, too much for any person that is weighing all factors equally to ignore.

Good luck in your quest.

start with the Catholic Catechism online.

Don't listen to people who say you need to start with the Bible. I presume as a Baptist you have already read and studied the Bible numerous times.

The Catechism is based on the Bible, but it has the advantage of clearly explaining what Catholics believe and practice, and why we believe and practice as we do based on Scripture, writings of the Church Fathers, and Papal and Conciliar documents.

You should also contact the Catholic Parish nearest to your residence and inquire what you need to do to "come home."

Edit: By the way, do not go to the Web site recommended by James W., above. It is filled with falsehoods, heresies, and historical inaccuracies. And if James W. wishes to rebut my assertion here, I would be very glad to debate him, item by item.

Any church or cathedral should offer a conversion program. its calle the RCIA program in the Catholic church.

EDIT: come on donna....lets go for a pew romp! just for old times sakes. you were 12 when you left the church...that seems too young to ever do anything worthy of answering this question.
