To call Jesus a hero would not be wrong, but it does not give the full impact of who he is. He is Lord and savior, and the king of kings, but if a person does not know the details of these titles, they still leave us cold. What is he Lord over, and what did he save us from and who are the kings that he is king of?
He is Lord over all, but there is an exception mentioned in first Corinthians 15 in verse 28 where it says, "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." Some say that he is co-equal with the Father, but the way I read this, he is subordinate to him.
What he saved us from was eternal punishment in the lake of fire mentioned in Revelation 20:15. "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." This was a punishment for sin which we enhaireted from Adam. It is a thing that we have no way of avoiding. Because we are decedents of Adam, we are worthy of death, but Jesus paid our price for us. Even so, many Christians think that we need to earn our salvation, but this thought is in error. There is no way for us to do so.
The kings who he is the King of are those who serve him. 2 Timothy 2:12, "If we endure, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us:"
It is important to know that he is the only begotten son of the One True God. Some believe that it is also important to know that he is the second person of the triune God. I don't see that as quite so important. To me that is a matter of anatomy, but who he is is that which reflects what he does. First John 4:8 says that he is love.

Most people don't realize the Bible is actually pretty interesting. Especially the Old testament, its like a soap opera, crazy hilarious stuff. You really should read it. It will answer alot of your questions.
Well its a little difficult to explain in detail but I will do my best to explain it simply.
God is Jesus father.
God allowed the virgin Mary to carry His son.
Jesus was born to create the perfect sacrifice. (in the old testament Jews had to sacrifice goats, birds, and things of that nature to God but once Jesus came there would be no more sacrifices)
Christ(like Saviour and Messiah) is another term for Jesus. Christians are just followers of Jesus.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit make up the Trinity.(Which is way, way complex cause they are all the same "person" but still three in one)
If you want to know anything else just e-mail me.

Jesus is the Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried and resurrected on the third day by the Glory of God the Father. Christ is the head of the church (body of Christian Believers).
Matthew 16:16
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:4
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Jesus is God. During his physical life, he was both fully human, and fully God, come to endure the ultimate punishment for our sins, so that each of us may be forgiven and our relationship with God be restored. God has three 'faces' (the trinity), known as the son (jesus), the father (our father), and the holy spirit (whom jesus sent to guide us when he returned to heaven).

He is who he is, the eternal God, Creator, Lifegiver, Lawgiver, Messiah, Father, Spirit, Son, Redeemer and Judge.
Not all Christians or churches believe this, but I do.
In answer to your other question, Jesus is all of God who came to visit us clothed in a body. Since he allowed himself to be incarnate and born as we are, within a body, he is also known as the Son of God - but this just means he was incarnate, not that God reproduced himself. The incarnation did not, and could not possibly have changed God's eternal nature, he just humbled himself and allowed himself to be incarnate. It is not surprising you are confused, how can we his creatures understand our Creator adequately?

He is our Savior! Without a Savior we would be lost and we could not be reconciled to God. He is the Lamb Of God who takes away the sins of the world. No man can go to the Father lest they go through the Son. He shed precious blood to die an agonizing death on a cross for you and me. It was Christ's choice to do this. He did not have to but did it willingly. Email me, I will be happy to explain Christianity to you if you really want to know.
