A forward stance, aka "bow" stance or front stance is a posture that teaches the practitioner the execution of several techniques.

A lunge is when you throw your body forward, irrelevant of the stance.

If you are standing upright and lunge into forward stance, it is the action that is considered the lunge.

that you don't put your leg out that far back on a front stance... lol i never thought about that.
