A large stocking by the fireplace filled with sweets and fruit and craft type toys, things for the kids to occupy themselves then all other presents under the tree which wont be opened until after christmas dinner which I know is agony for the children but I think it prolongs the excitment of the day rather than tear all the presents open in the morning and then its all over with!! This is what my parents did with me and my brothers and its what I now do with my kids. Have a great christmas!!

all the presents from us or other family is under the tree already, they get put there maybe a week before xmas and then since we dont have a fireplace the stockings arent hung they are just laid out on the couch the night santa comes and in the morning the kids get outta bed and come into the living room to find the stockings, anything santa gets thats too big for the stocking isnt usually wrapped its just placed by the stocking. so usually since i over buy they get a stocking full and a pile next to the stocking of gifts from santa. my mother in law found it odd that all the presents not from santa are under the tree a week before, in her family no presents came out untill the kids wen to bed xmas eve. so many pple do it so many different ways.so you do what works for you

Santa only brings one present per kid (usually something thats not common, more homemade looking), the rest are from family. We put the wrapped presents under the tree in the week leading up to christmas, then put the Santa present out after bedtime. Stockings are hung on the fireplace and filled, Santa gives stockings to the adults too!

My boys have a stocking at the bottom of their beds and then Santa come to deliver all the presents and puts them under the tree on Christmas eve.
also means that opportunist burglars can't find them that easily.

We have Stockings upstairs.
I invested in a Santa Suit after I nearly got caught when one of the kids woke up though, that way, if I did get caught, they wouldn't think anything of it!
Presents for from each other and family etc go under the tree and get opened after Christmas dinner.
We did this when I was a kid partly as we already had toys to play with from Santa and we used to have family visiting but they didn't turn up till the afternoon so we opened them later and they didn't miss out.
Merry Christmas

I sneak a stocking onto the kids beds and the main presents downstairs. That way you get an extra few minutes in bed while they unwrap their stockings! I always make the kids wait for everyone to be awake then we all go downstairs together.

On christmas eve as i put the kids to bed we make a big fuss of laying the empty stocking and sack outside their bedroom door, then when they're asleep "santa" fills them up ready for the morning and they stay outside the bedroom door so they get the suprise when they open the door up first thing. their main presents stay in the living room and they have the same place every year so they know where their pressies are.
