I got an email from an ex recently asking to meet for lunch. I declined but the email stuck with me as if there was something that needs resolution. This guy, I found out after 2 years together, was cheating on me with numberous other men and as the puzzle pieces started to fit together I realized he was an accomplished liar as well as a cheat. I feel his contact is just more of his selfish arrogance....what advice would you give?

If you go back, even as friends, you will be manipulated, lied to, just like before. Sometimes being just friends is impossible, because of all the excess baggage from before. Can you trust him ever again? If you can't trust someone, then I don't feel that you can be a good friend. Being friends doesn't mean it is only one sided, it has to be from both sides, and you can't say he respected you, or he wouldn't have done the things he did to you. Hope all goes well for you.

Well, I'm not a believer that all past relationships have to end on bad terms and everyone makes mistakes and poor choices. However, depending on how long ago it ended, I'd probably let it go. Why is he wanting to be friends all of a sudden? You seem like you've moved on and he should do the same.

first off google this "how many people on the planet earth" then think to yourself, is it really worth thinking about being friends with this guy when there are so many other people out there? so what if he is sorry or whatever thats fine, if he cared about you in the first place he would have thought about it in the first place before doing such messed up stuff to you. not worth your time to be stuck on the people in your past when theres so many other possiblities out there u know?

Maybe you could work better and closer as just friends.

Be the bigger person and learn to forgive him and maybe then you wont be so bitter

I'm not saying be his best friend but make an effort?

Good luck
