You might want to re-read the bible on the quote you list. Matt. 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter(Petros), and on this rock(petra) I will build my church... Jesus is saying to Peter, based on the confession that you have just made, that I am the Christ, the Son of the living God, based on that fact I will build my church. Peter has no primacy over the other 11 apostles as some try to teach.

Two errors.
One we quote Peter often. I have used him twice today alone.
Second, Jesus did not that He would build His church upon Peter. He said that Peter's knowledge came from God, not man, and that upon that rock, meaning the rock of revelation from God, He would build His church. It is a play on words that Peter's name is translated as rock and that Christ was talking to Peter when He said that upon this rock I will build my church. He did not say that upon Peter He would build His church. The scripture is definitely open to multiple interpretations, that is why we need the confirmation of the spirit to know what Christ really meant. He told Peter, that man hath not revealed this to you but my Father which is in heaven. And I say unto you, thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The key is what is meant by "this". What is the pronoun's antecedent? It is our understanding that "this rock" referred to the revelation from God to Peter that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. That kind of knowledge, possessed by the members of His Church, cannot be defeated by Satan.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
