that doesn't necessarily mean i'm going to do everything according to the law. in fact i think if i had such an extreme disregard for authority i'd expect to eventually be caught by the police. that being said, i think it stands to reason that those who believe in a god are not necessarily going to do what he wants them to do. belief does not mean obedience. so my question is this. what is to stop someone, who believes in god but just doesn't care about his punishments from doing something evil? to put it differently. let's say i believe in a god. i feel i'm going to go to hell no matter what i do. what's to stop me then from committing some heinous crime against humanity? i already assume i'm going to be sent to hell, and nothing i do is going to get me a punishment worse than that, what would stop me from doing something horribly wrong? how often do we see killers turn themselves in peacefully to the authorities?

that wouldn't explain why they can't refrain from sinning at all?

there is nothing to stop anyone from doing the like. a person either chooses to do something evil or not. belief does not matter. many people commit heinous crimes believing that god wanted them to do it. so obviously belief does not stop evil acts from being committed.

this question has been asked frequently. you won't like the respond, yet right here that's: The police could defend us and be there in the form that there is a ruin in, theft, tried homicide, mugging, and so on. whether that's extremely no longer likely that they are going to be there in time to do any authentic good. this is the reason we've hid carry, persons that have long handed by using diverse historic past exams and secure practices classes to make beneficial that they are actually not going to shoot babies, and while the time comes, the gun on your section will defend you greater desirable than the police that are miles away. A citizen with a gun IS greater frightening to a criminal and burglar than a police officer, so people ought to very own weapons for self protection, because of the fact each so often thats all they have. NOW WAIT, i pronounced voters with historic past exams and the info they have handed firearm secure practices tests, no longer some random guy from the streets that buys a glock at a pawn save. in the united kingdom, they banned weapons for each individual however the army, and wager what? the crime fee over there is somewhat some the utmost in europe, scotland is talked approximately as "the knife homicide capitol of the international". and for good reason, and there are nonetheless shootings and murders over there, hmmmm i ask your self why? could desire to or no longer this is that criminals dont follow regulations? and nonetheless get weapons? in the time of the 1994-2004 attack weapons ban, crime somewhat greater effective, thats what the media doesnt choose you to correctly known, and in 2004 while it ended, crime began reducing to now, this is an all time LOW. so i think of this is info that weapons somewhat avert crime. To come back on your question, no, i dont think of the police and armed forces ought to be the only ones to very own a gun.

God has given His Moral Law to us and that could be called as conscious if I pick the right word. We all fall short from the glory of God, but we are saved by His great mercy and grace if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
I saw it here once so I use it now. In God's court the criminal goes free if he accepts the mercy of God and he is remorseful. We cannot make it with fair deal. We all break the law and so forth we are all law breakers. So we cannot make it by law. No one is good by their own right.
No one should ever believe the lie that they are already sentenced to hell, because only God knows our hearts.

I believe that your are looking at this in the wrong light, people who believe in God don't obey him because their afraid of going to hell. Rather they have a "personal" relationship with God. Wouldn't you be more likely to obey the law if you were friends with the cop that would arrest you if you broke the law? I know I would.

Thoes who believe in god believe that god is watching them at all times. Unless you believe the government has installed little tiny cameras in your eyes, its not the same thing.
