There are drippless candles for such an occasion. I wanted them, but the minister said no. You need to talk to the church head before you make any decision on candles. Don't waste your money if you can't have them. Good luck!

Hi. Sounds beautiful! You first need to check with the venue that you are having the ceremony at....whether that is a church or another place. Many places DO NOT allow candles or are very restrictive on what they do allow. If allowed, check with a florist...sometimes they have stands with candles for this purpose. Again, if this is a church, some churches have ones that attach to the ends of the pews.
The first thing is to speak with the venue and then go on from there with different ideas.
Good luck!

A chocolate fountain with strawberries and or other small fruit or graham crackers would be fun to add to the hot chocolate bar having snowflake decorations would be pretty and would stay with the winter theme and color them. but that depends on where you live. for center pieces or just any where flock candle holders in different sizes and then put candles in them that way they look like it snowed on them very pretty with candle light. If the reception is outside make sure to have fire pillars or heater pillars so people stay warm two cupcakes might not be such a good idea as guest will want cake also. what you could do is cupcakes in a pretty tower one of those metal ones and have the largest two cupcakes as yours and the grooms that way guest can share the cake with you.

Sounds very romantic! First of all it depends if you want them at floor level or higher. If on the floor some white frosted glass votive holders would be stunning even some clear vases with a coloured candle would be good too! Higher you will need candle stands and usually the flame is exposed so watch out for dresses and stuff catching fire!

Talk to the church. I know my church had ones that they use for Christmas every year. Tall poles that attach to the end of each pew with a small hurricane lamp and candle inside of it. I was able to use them for free (same with the candleabras) b/c I rented the church.
A lot of churches have those and you might just get lucky.
If not, definitely go with the flameless candles. The church probably does not allow hot wax as it would ruin the carpet.
The candles were an absolutely beautiful touch and I thought it made my pictures so romantic.

you can buy inexpensive adorable candle holders at any store near your house (crafts store, wal-marts, if you have one in your area christmas tree shop) and you can buy the candles at these places as well. I would suggest buying the tall candle holders and shorter candles incase someone forgets and tips them over you should be safer than have the candle stand up right and the hold on the bottom. NO FIRES ON WEDDING DAY NOW! and if in a church, If they have large pues then place them at the thickest part of the pue out of the way from people knocking them over.

get white paper bags...the kind bakeries use to put rolls in...like the size of lunch bags. Put votive size candles in a holder in the bottom (you can probably get some cheap ones at a dollar store) and surround the holder with some stones to keep it steady. the bags will mute the light they let off and keep breezes from blowing them out. You can even decorate the bags but don't cover them too much or the light won't shine thru. I know it sounds kinda cheap, but I have seen it done and it looks nice.

our florist suggested for ours to have shepard hooks and to have the candle holder hanging from them then put rose petals in the bottom :-)
I thought it was a good idea and loved it but we're getting married during the day it would be perfect for a night wedding

You can get the candle's that look real but run on batteries. Not the most romantic, but less chance for a fire.

yes. buy tall cylinder vases and put some sand in the bottom to hold a votive candle firmly in place.
I am thinking about doing this too.
you'll need long matches or an aim and flame.
