I've got an interesting question for you all. Lots of guys like me like athletic girls, but some think girls who exercise a lot or who do sports are too manly for them. Still, more and more girls are doing sports, going to the gym, or running alot. If girls are worried that we will think they are too fit, then why do they do all that? Do some girls like to work out, and do they think guys will like them for that? Or are they embarassased? Haha, I'm just trying to understand girls lol

Yeah I forgot to say one more thing: or do girls just do it because they feel like it? I mean, lots of people, guys and girls, try to do stuff to make themselves more appealing, but some people do stuff just for themselves. Well?

A lot of girls do athletic activities because they're worried about their looks. The media and Hollywood make it seem like only impossibly thin girls are beautiful, so they are trying to achieve that look. Either that, or they just like to play a specific sport...

Some women enjoy doing those things for themselves. It's not all about what men think. Some do it because there are men out there who love that body type. Lots of women don't do any of that.
You can't understand 'women', just focus on the one you're with or the one you want to be with. Generalizations don't work well in understanding humans.

Well contrary to what most guys think, alot of the stuff we do has nothing to do with you. Like for instince playing sports, we do it because we like it not because we think you do as for the gym, we do that to either get healthy, be happy with ourselves, or relieve stress. Most girls when doing these things arent doing them to make you happy there doing it to make themselves happy. So men of the world get over yourselves, and if you are so shallow that you would only date a girl who was athletic or vice versa then please make the world a better place and jump off a building

Yes and no to all of your questions.
First of all, a girl is not thinking "will a man think I'm too masculine if I go to the gym?"; she is thinking either she wants to work out, she wants men to think she's thin, or she wants to meet guys. The average female is not going to be considered too manly if she works out because your average female is not going to get those muscles that female bodybuilders have that are truly nasty.
Yes, girls like to work out. Yes, girls do it because they think guys will like them (not necessarily for working out but for looking skinnier). I don't know what they would be embarrassed about.

I suspect that most women who are fit do it for themselves and not for you (men). Do consider that there is much more in life than the opposite sex, much more than that reason for what we do or don't do.
I don't think that "girls are worried that they are too fit". I think some girls may think one way, some another, but most of us (people, that is) do whatever we do for ourselves first. If others like it, good. If not, we still more often do it than not.
