A remedy is a cure and there is no cure for either one. They will run their respective course in 7 to 10 days.

If you start using Zicam at the onset of a cold, it can shorten both severity and duration of a cold. And for both colds and flu, the most you can do is treat the symptoms until it's over. Practicing conscientious handwashing and oral hygiene can help reduce the number of colds you get each year.

You might wish to consider having a flu vaccination when you're well again. FYI: Dairy products do not contribute to mucus. This is a myth.

Nothing quick. ColdEase will help. (zinc lozenge)
Stubborn colds do tend to clear up in 2 or 3 days. New research in echunasia (not sure on spelling) does show it helps.
But the best thing is your own immune systems. Keep on a good diet of fruits and veggies, lots of water, limited meat, NO fast foods. NO dairy(causes mucus)
no processed foods. I have not have a cold or flu since I started taking Juice Plus+ http://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/pages/Home.soa?site=Lb53116

This has worked a couple of time for me; get in as many sweat clothes and warm clothing as possible. then go into you smallest bathroom with a shower and let it run blazing hot. Huddle up close to the steam.

The object is to sweat as much as possible. As i've said, i've done it a few times and come out of the bathroom feeling much better.

I would, however, leave the bathroom if you start to feel queezy or dizzy.

drink lots and lots of water - it will flush it out your system and also eat lots of oranges for the vitamin C. Have hot baths and pretend you are feeling better (this is scientifically proven to work)

hope you feel well soon :)

p.s
if it lasts longer than 2 weeks go and see the doctor

My family swears by Zicam. you can get it in several forms, nose spray, nose swabs, and throat spray. I prefer the nose spray...

Putting slimey q-tips in my nose (the swabs) is just miserable... and from personal experience we don't think the throat spray works as quickly as the nose spray.
