Because I BELIEVE every word Jesus has spoken this is the one that makes me believe Jesus in the begotten son of YHVH God. John 17: 1,2,3: After Jesus said this, he LOOKED toward heaven and prayed: "FATHER, the time has come. Glorify Your SON, that Your SON may glorify YOU. For YOU granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those You have given him. Now this is *eternal life: that they may KNOW You, the ONLY true God, and Jesus Christ whom YOU have sent."

It is unfortunate that so many don't even seem to comprehend your question. Evidently it is because they won't even entertain the mere POSSIBILITY that Christ is in fact NOT God. So because of this, they do not understand that the phrase "God's Son" is in itself evidence of the Son not being God because it actually words the Son as a SEPERATE PERSON from God.
The belief of the Trinity is supposed to have it so that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all somehow God. But the phrase "God's Son" is actually showing that God is a SEPERATE PERSON from the Son and therefore the Son cannot BE God.
While the Father is always found in the Bible to be called "God", the phrase "God the Son" is NEVER found. That is because the Son is NOT God. He even said so himself. The Son called someone other than himself "the only true God". That someone else was the Father. (John 17:1-3)

A lot of scriptures have already been given. Maybe I will just add two more....
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit were together at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan, i.e. the Triune God was present on that day:
"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo, a voice from heaven saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17 KJV)
Jesus, God the Son, is Jehovah Himself, the Almighty God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity:
""I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8 KJV)
The Holy Trinity cannot be explained, though many have tried. If God Almighty can be explained with our finite minds, then He will no longer be the infinite God.
To know whether He is real or not, we will have to believe in our hearts. Then He will make Himself known to us. The natural human mind cannot understand the infinite God.
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

No one who says that Jesus is God is saying the the Son is the same person as the Father. But we are saying that it is God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Compare Rev 1:8 where God says He is the Alpha and Omega.....the Almighty, with Rev 22:12-13 where Jesus claims the identity of the Alpha and Omega. Also Isa 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, Micah 5:2, John 1:1, John 8:58 (where Jesus declare he is the "I AM" from the OT, whereupon the Jews try to stone him for blasphemy) Phil 2:11, Col 1:16 ....there are many more. The bible clearly states over and over again the deity of Christ, either he is in fact God, or he is lying, or he is crazy, he could not have been anything else.
I have to comment on tahoe's above. one of the very first thing he states is colossian 1:16. However he is quoting from the NWT and the word 'other' has been added to the text. It should read, "For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible...." The NWT added the word "other" thereby making Jesus a created being and not the creator. The added it in brackets because they know it does not appear anywhere in the greek text. They will tell you it is to clarify the meaning, but actually it just robs Jesus of the one that actually created everything, just like it says.

Jesus is the Father and the Son.
John 10:30 I and the Father are one.
There is tons of verses to back this up. The Evangelical expression of the trinity is unclear. The Early church defined it as of one substance. Nicene creed 325AD.
In Isa 9:6 the traditional verse for Christmas says clearly he is the Eternal Father. Look at Zech. 12 : 8-10 and you will see the biblical back and forth of I am me which describes the Father and Son manifestations and workings of the triune nature as it unfolds and expresses the end time manifestation to the Jews.

You have to look at the original Greek to understand why Christians believe that Christ is God. He declares 7 times in the book of John "I Am" in direct relation to when God spoke to Moses in the old testament and said, "I Am." God lives outside of time - He has no beginning and no end. He Is, and you would never refer to God as "He was" nor would you saying "He will be". He just Is and that covers all the past, the present and the future. The declaration of "I Am" is Jesus' declaring His deity. These declarations are EXACTLY why he was crucified.
So anyway, what you need to be searching out in a concordance is "I Am." Look at all of the references to "I Am" from both the Father and the Son. You can look those references up online at Blueletterbible.com and translate them into their original Greek and Hebrew.

Good question. there are no scriptures that prove that jesus is god. people just misunderstand the meaning of the scriptures. however, jesus cannot be god. they are two different persons. God is more powerful than jesus. people just need to think about it cause Jesus is not God

Jesus is Jehovah's son. Jesus always said he cannot do anything without the Father in heaven. Jehovah sent Jesus, his only begotten son, down here to die for our sins. Jesus was the only one who could do it, he was a perfect son. Look what he went through for us. Jesus is in my heart and he is who we have to go through to get to Jehovah God... God Bless
