why does life have so much contrversity in it

Because there is a war going on between good and evil. They are not compatible.

Controversy is what causes struggle.
Struggle makes us stronger.
When we grow in strength we can help others who are struggling.
Then we have community ,comradship, and JOY!
Acts 5:41;
