I've been trying to learn about Wicca and have been given a book for teenagers (I'm 33) by my brothers girl friend who practices, she said this book puts it in simple terms. Are there any other books you recommend to read or even websites to visit? My interests are purely personal and spiritual.

I recommend Scott Cunningham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner".
Laurie Cabot's "The Power of the Witch" and "The Witch in Every Woman" are good.
Dorothy Morrison has a good book as well for beginners.."The Witch's Book of Shadows".

I'd advise you to steer clear of anything by Silver Ravenwolf.

If it's "Teen Witch" by Silver Ravenwolf (heck, ANYTHING by Silver Ravenwolf), give it back.

Check out:

Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner - Scott Cunningham
Living Wicca - Scott Cunningham
Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft (aka "Uncle Bucky's Big Blue Book") - Raymond Buckland
Wicca For One : The Path of Solitary Witchcraft
- Raymond Buckland
The Spiral Dance - Starhawk
The Earth Path - Starhawk

I'm also a recent fan of Dianne Sylvan's "The Circle Within".

For a more broad-based Pagan overview, as opposed to strictly Wiccan, also check out the books on Paganism and Pagan Spirituality by Joyce and River Higginbotham.

Kallan, VT has some very good suggestions. Scott Cunninghams "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner" & "Living Wicca" are very good. He puts things in very simple, direct terms. His "The Truth About Witchcraft Today" is also very good. I also like Ann Moura's series on Green Witchcraft. i forgot about Phyllis Curott. She has 3 out that are very good. the first one would be really relevant for you as it's about her discovery & journey into Wicca:
Book of Shadows : A Modern Woman's Journey ... - 1999 -Witch Crafting : A Spiritual Guide to Making Magic - 2002
The Love Spell : An Erotic Memoir Of Spiritual ... - 2005 -

I started out with the Silver Ravenwolf books myself. Then I moved on to...

www.witchvox.com
www.cog.org

The Truth about Witchcraft, Hans Holzer
Wicca for the Solitary Practicioner, Scott Cunningham
Drawing Down the Moon, Margot Adler
The Spiral Dance, Starhawk

and...my personal favorite...Book of Shadows by Phyllis Curott

I can recommend "Real Magic" by Issac Bonewits. It is still the definitive text for Wiccans to teach or learn magic. :-D

And, of course, "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler.

And "The Triumph of the Moon" By Hutton.

http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/recommendedreading/tp/Starter_Kit.htm These too!

And stay away from authors like Silver Ravenwolf. They aren't taken very seriously... I actually don't read anything published by Llewellyn these days unless it's highly recommended.

You already have some excellent recommendations, I would add: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft.

I found a wonderful website that offers a free basic course and discussion forums:
