My dad's side came into some money recently and they were like us raised poor middle class. and now have become sadistic twisted cruel malicious aholes from the 9th circle of hell. Their kids are so cruel to me and their less wealthy cousins. They torment one so much she tried to kill herself. They didn't care that she tried to either. I think they called her a waste. She's a nice person. They are for the lack of a better word EVIL. Becoming Rich is all they care about in the world. NOthing else. they're crazy and get in my face and yell at me that i'm not good enough for the family and they teach their kids that it is ok to be violent and mean. And that they are better than everyone else. They treat me like i'm dirt and do spit at me in public.

I don't think that money makes people evil but I do think money can cloud people's judgment and it can make them feel like they are better than others or don't have to answer to the same rules and laws as us "poorer," folk.
Money is power and there is a saying about power which end "Absolute power corrupts absolutely,".
I suggest you get as far away from these people as possible. They are toxic right now. Money isn't the answer to everything and money can't make you happy. These people will eventually self destruct and you don't want to be around when they do.
I feel sorry for them. They are missing the truth and real meaning in everything.

I agree with all the posted answers. Money indeed is the root cause of evil - that is the cause for family feud. Thus one knows how manage wealth to stay wealthy and at the same, his foot still on the ground.
