The spelling - and thats a serious answer.
You take a word from one language and use the phonetic sounds of another language (transliteration) and as long as it sounds right - it's spelled right :-)

Moslems came from the NOI ( nation of islam ) , its just a different way of saying and spelling it. The Nation of Islam believed, and tought, that Islam was for black people only. NOI was a very radical religion. Watch Malcom X or read about him. What an amazing person he was, and brave.

Just a variant spelling. I think Moslem is fairly archaic now. See: Koran, Qu'ran, etc.
