You should really go do your own homework. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of doing it.,

The traditional phrase for this time is "the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church." Growth was good, but not nearly the numbers as when it became the institutional religion of the Roman Empire. Predominately you saw ebb and flow of growth due to intense persecutions and relaxation of those persecutions. It is thought God grew His church during that time because sinful men saw others who were willing to die for their faith, and it would quicken their hearts and minds to the gospel.

It was a small but growing faith. The Roman Emperor Constantine made it the state religion. Next day everyone was a Christian.

1st, the Jews and Romans began persecuting us.
2nd, the slaves, lower class guys, and even our executioners converted when they saw our bravery.
3rd, Constantine made it the official religion of the Empire after he saw a flaming cross in the sky with the words (Translated from latin) "In this sign, thou shalt conquer".
He won the battle he was fighting.

Christianity was exploding onto the scene. Rome tried to fight it down, but in the end, they had to accept it as the religion of the empire, and they eventually did.
