I've already tried neurofen and it hasn't worked... are there any suggestions that could ease this unbelievable pain?

you should ask your dentist for a painkiller. you are only taking a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory from what neurofen sounds like. that will not be enough for pain from dental extraction.

Take a tea spoon of salt and dissolve into some water, rinse out your mouth and then spit it down the drain. Have another nurofen at least 4 hours after the original one. When you go to bed tonight have an extra pillow and sleep on the side it was pulled out on. Good luck i know how unbearable the pain is.

Sorry - didn't look if you were male or female - but I guess you've not had children??

I've had 3 wisdom teeth pulled out, in the chair, not hospital - ok it hurts - but unbelievable?! Everyone's different I suppose, sorry.

Well, you could always get something stronger from your GP. Failing that try alcohol!!

Have you tried using BC powder? I hear that works really well to relieve pain quickly. Anbesol and other stuff works well to numb the area where you are experiencing pain.

I would ask your dentist for more serious stuff.

Co-codamol are excellent pain killers. It would have helped if you had taken some before your extraction, this would have given you some immunity to pain. Sorry its too late now, but remember for future dental work.

Clove oil will numb the pain, and you can apply it directly the the affected area.
Make sure you get the clove oil from a chemist, you don't want to use the sort of oil they put in oil lamps.

I've always found gently rubbing brandy around the gum works for me. The alcohol numbs the area and it tastes good!

Rinse your mouth with soluble Paracetamol - much better than nurofen for that type of pain.

Also keep your mouth rinsed with salt water as that will help it heal faster and keep it clean.

Ibuprofen or aspirin, but not both.

They are anti imflamatory and will bring down any swelling.

Also you can take paracetamol and codeine too, as they are different analgesic types.
