Great choice. The only thing to remember is that you should seal the concrete so that it doesn't stain. But, you can choose any color you want and it is a lasting, durable solid surface.

Well, I don't think much of them. My neice in California put in a fabulous kitchen that cost $75K and concrete counter tops and they stain, make all kinds of marks and to be honest, they are downright ugly. Use granite or the synthetic sandstone. They are just gorgeous and make a newly done kitchen look like you spent alot of money.

I have watched them do these on HGTV and I have seen them in a small hometown specialty store and I love them! They seem to be pretty easy to do as well, I am just fearful to attempt them right now. But they are very durable and they are lighter weight than regular concrete because you use a different mix and the color variations you can do, I think it is a overall great decision! Good luck.

Sounds interesting, but concrete is porous; anything that spills on it will soak in. Grease and other food liquids may not be very sanitary for a kitchen countertop.
