I need to buy a Christmas present for a 4 year old child with autism. Any ideas.
The autism is rated at a scale 8, so he is unable to communicate with us. etc
Any ideas????

children often have specific things that they are very interested in- why not ask his mum if there is anything specific she likes I have worked with childern with autism who've been especially into disney, thomas the tank engine, balloons and tearing up paper, aas well as often they love DVDs, and story books- thingst hthat are repearted and stay the same over and over again. Thomas the Tank engine is popular with children with autism, and as useful as they do have faces, but there expressions are lesscomplex than humans, so easier for children with autism to understand.

Thomas the Tank Engine is recommended by the National Autistic Society

My son has autism and he is fascinated with puzzles. We got him a rubics cube for his 10th birthday and I still can't get him to leave it alone, even though he completed it on the first day! Jigsaws, clay, if he can deal with the texture!, executive toys like the newtons' cradle if he can handle the noise, basically anything that can move independantly, catch his eye with colours or create something he likes. Hope this help and best of luck. Xx

my son loved things that spun...things that went around and around. he would listen to a record over and over because it went around and around. I don't know if you can buy a record player any more. a sit n spin would work.
