Highly unlikely you'll be making 70k.
Payscale.com claims that with 20+ years of experience you'll, on average, be making just under 60k.

Depends on the area, externship the BSRN specialized in, etc.
Do you live in a rural area, a najor city, whats the desire to be a floor nurse, a visiitng nurse, a surgical nurse, a pediatric oncology RN???
Also shift, nights, weekends, days, theres a shift differential, you can make $100,000
Beware of burn out
MOST important benefit for a NEW Nurse is TIME off!!
Buy a car, get a condo, take a nice vacation BUT you must have time to relax and recover
NEXT go back to school and get a certification in NURSING or Computers, Education, School NUrsing, or Business Marketing.
I would suggest getting a Masters in something NOT Nursing.
You will be stuck with a Nursing degree for the rest of your life
If you have a degree in Statistics for example you could get a job with a Pharmaceutical company, In this case a BSRN is great because of the clinical background, if you decided to get out of Nursing a degree in Acciountoing for example would allow you to totally divorce yourself from the stigma of juts being a Nurse.

I live in north Louisiana. My first year of employment as an RN I made right at 50K. that was in 2003. The base salary has increased since then. That is w/overtime. New grads here start @ 19.00- 20.00/hr, but there are shift differentials 4.00/hr after 3pm 2.00/hr on weekends. GPA has no effect on wage. I made over 70k my third year. That was working OT. Approx. 10 hours per pay period. Hope this helps.

From working as an intern in the HR department in a hospital, I can tell you that your gpa will have no impact on your starting salary. All new hires have a set rate, which may be adjusted upward if you have any previous experience. As far as how much you will make, it all depends on location and the type of setting you work in (ex. hospital vs. nursing home, etc.)

nurses are usually a set rate - sometimes union and your grade point will have no bearing on pay. If you are talking about anRN position, I don't know if any nurses make that much without working more than 40 hrs a week

probably not 70k
most likely between 40-50k
however, some hospitals do offer a signing bonus of up 20k if you agree to work there for a min. of 2years.
