Sometimes kids grow to the height of one of their parents, sometimes they don't.

It's possible that the child will inherit the mother's genes, and be short. It's possible that the child will inherit the father's genes and be tall. It's also possible that the child will inherit some from each parent, and be somewhere in between.

Additionally, it's possible that each parent is carrying genes from a previous generation, which are not the same as the physical characteristics that they actually have. For example, perhaps the 6' dad had a mother who was only 5'...he could pass those genes on to the child...Alternately, if the 5'1" mother's father was 6'2", she would be carrying those genes, and could pass them to the child, as well.

Not only can you not tell before they're born, you can't tell until they have stopped growing. They'll change a lot during adolescence. Some kids have long legs when they're young, and still end up being short adults...Some kids are short when they're young, and end up being tall.

You really just can't tell...Even a doctor can't give you more than an educated guess.

My father is 5'10", and my mother is 5'8". My brother is 5'11", and my sister and I are both 5'4". I think my sister and I got my mother's mother's short genes, and my brother got my father's father's tall genes.

There is a way to get an approximate (but not guaranteed) height.... you take your height in inches (61 inches) and the fathers height in inches (72 inches).... then you add them together (you get 133 inches).... from there, you add five for a boy, or subtract 5 for a girl.... you're asking about a girl, so subtract 5, you get 128.... divide that by 2 and you get 64 inches... which is 5'4.... I hope that wasn't too confusing, lol. I did it with my parents to see what it said for my height, and it was only a half an inch off....

6 + 5 = 11 11 x .8 = 8.8 8.8 x .5 = 4.4 4.4 + 2 = 6.4 (assuming you only have 2 parents; considered one of each and every gender) by using my calculmatations, I estimate you will develop as much as be 6.4 ft tall plus or minus a variable of one million.5ft only joking! there is no thank you to tell. that's on your genes and out of your administration, for the main section. drink your milk and consume healthful ingredients and you'd be healthful. i'm hoping you will additionally be very happy too! :-)

This method has worked for me with all my kids. If you know the height at 2 years of age....take that height and double it. That will be the adult height. It has worked right to the inch with all my kids.

No one knows. There are kids that are shorter than their parents and some that are taller.

If everybody was taller than their parents we would have people that are 15 feet tall.
