In short, my girl went on vacation, hooked up with a guy (although she says they just kissed), came home and broke up with me via text message.

After not seeing or speaking to each other for a month, she finally came over and apologized for the way she treated me. We talked it out and cried a little.

I still have strong feelings for her but I can't read her and how she may feel. Last night, I walked over to her place to say happy birthday and have a beer with her. We laughed and talked but i didn't sense any sparks from her. The conversation started to turn toward "us" and then her friend stopped by with a birthday present. I hugged her friend and made my exit.

What am I doing??? Big mistake?? Am I groveling??

You must be a nice guy. I know because I was one for a long time. Apparently, trying to understand them doesn't do much for them. Girls need a guy who's willing to be the aggressor. This one is a slimy whore, but learn your lesson from her and be tough for the next one. If she tries to contact you again, chew her out. Release all your anger and rage on her. You'll feel 100% better and ready for the next girl. Don't be her b**** though; you dont deserve it.

maybe you are too passive , and let these things happen without you being upfront about them! shes using you cuz she know you wont get on "the drama" i would say that you need to build a little more character b4 you move into the next relationship becuase this one if you still have your dignity its over!
