More importantly, how did god get kangaroos to the middle east?
My guess is he magicked them over, probably on some sort of magical wind, across the Indian Ocean...

Hey dude, it would be impossible to get the amount of genetic diversity we see among beetle species in only a few hundred years.
And, Morey, if Terry Erwin of the Smithsonian is to be believed, the number of nonswimming beetle species yet to be scientifically described may be as high as 40 million.

The impossibility of the literalness of the "Ark" story is pretty obvious. Most cultures have a "Flood" story in their oral traditions, so, that there WAS a large flood at some point in pre-recorded history becomes pretty obvious. Another point against it's literalness is that a human gene-pool as limited as the one given in the Ark story would have resulted in the eventual extinction of all human life, and indeed, of all non-aquatic life. It doesn't take much effort to realize that it is totally allegorical. No biggie, religions all over thwe world are rife with allegory.

I personally don't think it's anything but a story, but I like a good logic problem!
Maybe, they were brought as eggs. Most insect eggs can be kept dormant very easily for a very long time. They would need only minimal care, and of course no food. The same could be done for all the bajillion other insects that needed saving, and for birds and reptiles, for that matter.
Plus, absolutely anythign is possible if you include divine intervention. Deus Ex Machina throws all the rules out the window.

Don't you think it's possible that he only took a few pairs with him, and over the last 4500 years of history those beetles have changed and adapted as they spread to different climates and areas of the world? I mean, if evolution is possible....surely that is possible too. I think it is more likely that the ancient ancestors of modern non-swimming beetles were a pair or three of actual beetles rather than primordial soup (which was, after all, the beginnings of all life forms, was it not?).

a million) Noah did no longer "positioned" the animals on the ark. Noah did no longer even ought to circulate out with nets and seize all of them! The animals "entered" the ark, they weren't "herded". the only possibility replace into that they have been below divine impression to commute to and board the ark on the suitable time. additionally, the Bible makes use of the observe "varieties", meaning animals which could reproduce with one yet another. God made all the animals as varieties, even us people are our very own form. This explains why cats cant reproduce with dogs, or people can no longer reproduce with chimpanzees. God set organic and organic limits to our very own varieties. With that being pronounced, there have been no longer 350,000 pairs of beetles of 4000 pairs of sparrows on the ark. there have been 2 beetles and a couple of sparrows. After the flood, those 2 beetles and a couple of sparrows began to reproduce, and as their offspring began to unfold by using the globe(curiously the order to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth replace into no longer purely given to guy) they began splitting into distinctive genetic beneficial components. think of of dogs: you have your Chihuahuas and German Shepherds and Bulldogs and such, yet they are all the comparable varieties because of the fact they could reproduce mutually. all of them got here from the comparable 2 dogs and over the years, distinctive mixes of genes and the occasional mutation led to their distinctive beneficial components. And till now you factor out my use of the observe "mutation" I ought to assert, a individual with crimson hair has a mutation, and a poodle has a mutation. those are not mutations that upload genetic information, this is needed for evolution.

1st of all he took 2 of each kind (1male & 1female)
of unclean animals and 7 of each of the clean. there were 2 beetles. the different species develped over the thousands of years after. for example he didn't take in 1 chinese, 1 mexican, 1 porta rican, 1 african, 1 irish, 1 japanese person these developed over the years.
also there were no animals in aulstralia at the time of the flood. mankind and all the animals started in the garden and migrated out from there but take my word they hadn't gotten very far in the 1st 6 chapters of genesis

On the hard drive God gave him the plans to build along with the big wooden boat. Plus he had all the plans to build a DNA sequencer, a solar cell to run it and a limitless supply of the necessary reagents to sequence all the known species DNA along with a time machine since it would take a heck of along time. 'Cause God can do anything, right, except maybe back up his own data.

I understand that Mrs Noah and the ladies were MUCH more concerned about the pairs of rabbits, cockroaches, bedbugs, and lice. How in the hell they were kept from reproducing is simply one of Jehovah's many mysteries, isn't it? Speaking of Aussies, what a job for the late, great Steve Irvin!

Apparently he only stored one species of beetle and after the flood, evolution went into high gear and produced hundreds of thousands of new species of beetle alone in just a few years.
