Let subordinates do the "dirty work".

God "foreknew" the choice that man would make and therefore already had the plan in place, however, there are many pslams and prophets that elude to Jesus as the lamb, the typical sacrifice, and that his blood would save many.

Isaiah 53

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

I think a pretty cool example previous to Jesus was how God provided a sacrifice for Abraham, I think that may be an allusion as well to Jesus, and the "blood for our sins" which is very Jewish. The symbolism is Jewish, and we should not forget that Jesus was a Jew in the sense of that day in age.

Blood sacrifices are long held tradition in the jewish religion to remove the sins committed

See: scape goat
Deutronomy (sp?)

They used first born, whole calves. Mostly pure.

God's "son" was as pure as it could get. Removed from a line of sin, he could be sacrificed for everything ever done because of the enormity of his purity.

The very second that Adam and Eve decided that they would rather disobey Jehovah than follow his guidance Jehovah immediately had the answer.

15 And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.”

Thus came into existence the plan for the Messianic Kingdom.

This is a quote from: John Piper in 1992. His url for this reference is: http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Sermons/ByDate/1992/791_God_Has_Chosen_Us_in_Him_Before_the_Foundation_of_the_Earth/

The content of the message which applies to the question at hand is:
We begin where Paul begins in Ephesians 1:3–4.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world . . .

Paul begins by blessing God. He blesses him as one who has blessed us with every blessing that heaven can give. And the first foundation that Paul mentions for this assured fact is that "God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world."

God's Choice of Individuals for Salvation

So that is my first message: God's purpose in the salvation of his people is invincible—it cannot fail—because it is based first not on our choosing God but on God's choosing us. Verse 4: "He [God] chose us in him [Christ] before the foundation of the world."

Your salvation did not begin with your choice to believe in Christ—a choice which was real and necessary. Your salvation began before the creation of the universe when God planned the history of redemption, ordained the death and the resurrection of his Son, and chose you to be his own through Christ.

Now to answer the first question and for those of you who are Christians, the rest of you will think this wrong. It is entirely correct to say, as it is stated by God, that he decided Christ would die on the cross for us before the foundations of the earth were formed. Now Christians are of many maturities, according to what God has revealed to them so far. For some, this is a belief at best, for other Christians this is fact. It is fact because God, himself has made it evident for them. Now, for emerging Christians, and for non Christians this will be either nonsense or hopeful sense. Ask yourselves this though, if anyone knows something to be true and cannot prove it to another, is it false????? The last sentence is the crux of the issue for most discussions on Christianity. The ones that know cannot and are not asked by God to prove it to anyone. The proofs that God has supplied to them, is sufficient to overwhelming. God is a fact to them. To most or all others, God is hopefully there to God is just a contruct of someone's for control of the masses. No logic, personal feelings, or illogic or lies can change the fact that God exists, and no technique or force or conversation or bet or device can force God to reveal himself to those who request it. All this does not change the fact that God said he decided Christ would die on the cross for us before the foundations of the earth were formed. It is in the bible somewhere. I'll look for it and get back to you all.

Sincerely,
Curt

Somewhere between let there be light and he created man in his own image...why do you want to know???

Here's a question for you...if your wife's life depended on your child's blood would you ask your child to give it???...the truth to your question is that God gave his son the choice...and like an obedient son he did what he had to do to fulfill his destiny...and be allowed to sit next to his father in his kingdom...

Did God decide to use his son's blood as a sacrifice? If so, to whom. What is your evidence?

Since he started the creation or before even planning it, since God is omniscient. And at the same moment, Jesus might have been appealing--"Father, may this cup be taken away from me".

When mankind fell from God's Grace. Remember that Christ Himself volunteered as the ultimate sacrifice; He wasn't forced to do it.

But He did it out of His love for us.
