Self-fulfilling?

Because when I hear someone say that, it makes me want to give them the finger.

They repeat the same insults (disguised as arguments) until we get upset, at which point they can say "You need Jesus."

I've never actually heard someone say that. If I did, I'd point out to the person that it seems to be believers who don't want to be held accountable.

Lets just look at Christians, because those are the ones I know most about. There are some Christians who believe that faith will save their souls. So they can do whatever evil things they want in life but as long as they have faith, they don't have to suffer the consequences. There are some Christians who believe they can confess their sins and be forgiven and not face the consequences. Both of those situations are pretty contemptable if you ask me.

No, atheists know they are accountable for their actions but the consequences have to be faced here on Earth. If they get away with some transgression they are in the same position as the believer. Just because the believer imagines a punishment after death doesn't make it so.

My whole life I've been held accountable for my actions. As a child, I was accountable to my parents. As a student, I was accountable to my teachers. As an employee, I was accountable to my supervisor. As a citizen, I'm accountable to the police. As a taxpayer, I'm accountable to the State and Federal governments. As a husband, I am accountable to my wife.

You know what? As an educated person, I absolutely refuse to be held accountable to an imaginary tyrannical Deity, whose literal existence has never be conclusively demonstrated. It's no surprise that every time some thoughtless Christian declares I'm an atheist simply because I just don't want to be "held accountable," I do experience an overwhelming urge to give them the finger -- just like you..

this is surprising how a lot of people do think of that's a decision however. i assume they are purely willfully ignorant or delusional. I additionally think of this is remarkable how Christians will settle for that gay people have been born gay, yet then say that they ought to stay lives of celibacy, without romantic love, something that they might probably be unwilling to do themselves. i think of Paul pronounced as quickly as that we ought to continuously all be celibate, yet understanding that love is purely human nature, we ought to continuously enable it interior marriage. The Bible condemns a number of of issues that finding back look stupid from immediately's society's perspective. oftentimes Christians do no longer follow those regulations, quite often because of the fact they do no longer make experience. So why is there a double huge-unfold for gay people? Oh properly, have a effective day.

"No its christian('s, which) do not want to be held accountable.
Every time you tell them their sins as God said to. They want to punish you or worse. They yell and gasp their teeth."

Christianity is a CULT, with a figurehead, used as simultaneous, ambiguous blasphemy, to create a loggerhead of unresolvable controversy, around PUTTING A FACE ON GOD and A GRAVEN IMAGE FOR WORSHIP, at once, directed at injuring Jews and Moslems, in the long run destroying human and animal habitats.

When Jews started going along with the Crusader agendas, they bought some immunity, from the usual POGROMS.

But now, the UNBELIEVERS are tainted Christians and Jews, which do not believe they should notice their own FOURTH CRUSADE, of the invasion of Palestine, 1882, like THAT didn't cause WWI or WWII or the WWII holocaust, only the latest in many, MANY massacres, of Jews, on the way to their organized crime eclipsing their organized religion, with the Catholics, to cause either world collapse or their purge.

Catholics and Jews at 18 U.S.C. 245/371/1505/2384 and STEP/RICO illegal takings are cooking HEDGE FUNDS, due in 2007-2008. Say. THAT'S RIGHT NOW. Look out.

You need to realize the mental state of people who get deeply involved in religion. Especially for those in their first year of transformation (or brainwashing if you will) there seems to be a total obsession where nothing else is important. Also consider that most people who go in that direction are responding to some traumatic emotional of physical ordeal. Add to all this the fact billions of dollars are spent by political groups to attract religious people and that these groups are extremely divisive and non-tolerant. I would take pity on them and not take it personally.

I'd like to know what they think non-religious people are doing just because they don't believe in gods! Do they think we're running around in our underwear on our front lawns, mooning the neighburs? Do they think we're "fornicating" (one of the stupidest words on the planet) on top of kitchen appliances or committing adultery with cartoon characters?

Do they think we commit arson, steal Porsches and murder people randomly who are waiting for buses just because we don't believe in any gods so therefore must be wild and immoral? Grow the hell up! ROFLMAO

I sit at home all day working, with no time to fornicate, steal or murder! Sometimes I pour day old, nuked coffee into a used tea cup and drink it! Whoa Nelly! The DEVIL'S GONE AN' TOOK MY SOUL!

Go ahead and give 'em a couple o' fingers for me!

The thousands of German, French, Dutch, Polish christians that turned their Jewish neighbors into the Gestapo for execution--I take it these folks were saved and thus not accountable for their actions. funny, the man who saved more Jewish lives than Max Shindler was a Japanese consul member that was a Shintoist--but understood the basic wrong that was being committed and handed out thousands of Japanese diplomatic exit passes to the Jews. this horrible heathen had literally thousands at his funeral when he died. Pity the man will burn in hell for having the temerity to be a shintoist.

lol.. I find it funny, personally.

The ones who say that are the ones who don't take responsibility for their own actions.. they can blame all of their decisions, actions, etc.. on Satan or their 'sinful nature' and Jesus just "takes it all away" for them. They prefer a human sacrifice to their god to appease him,... as long as someone else did it.

In the pagan beliefs, the buddhists, hindus, and even among the atheists.. we all have a strong belief in being accountable for our own lives and decisions.

That can't be said for the "believers" who think they've skated by and we're all going to be punished.

ok, I just have to get analytic about this (in the transaction sort of sense)

the statement:"Unbelievers just don't ... actions" thing...?
it seems to be saying: "I'm better than you are."

dismissive comments often serve to express veiled hostility.

........[note: it's not surprising that you may feel the urge to give them the finger, since, in so many words, that's what they did to you. ...
when "attacked", the "defend" mode crops up, and often a counter-attack feels appropriate, even if it's NOT the most effective reply ... (don't sink to their level) ]

[note 2: this often takes place below the level of cognitive awareness .. ]

Initial rebellion is one thing. Being a straight up jack-off is another.

And that is, of course, an individual issue. Some "unbelievers", just like some "believers" are jack-offs. Others are not. It has nothing to do with religion.
