If the t-stat on a taurus sticks, and the car overheats. Does the screw on rad cap have a built in vent.

It will vent If your coolant is hot enough. More than likely it will go to your over flow tank. Most radiator caps will vent when hot enough under the right circumstances. I hope it doesn't because if it is that hot you're going to have more problems than just a stuck thermostat.

The pressure cap on the radiator will "vent" and release pressure if the pressure build up is too great. It spring loaded and expected to maintain a set amount of pressure and will "vent". The superheated coolant will first be dumped into the over flow tank and from the over flow tank it will flow out if there is too much coolant.

So technically yes it has a built in vent.

No, what it has is a hose on the radiator just onder the cap that leads to the water resevoir when it overheats it throws water to the resevoir.
