To gain weight fast eat protein rich food like meat and eggs. Protein shakes also help you gain weight. The weight gained by protein can be turned to mussel easier than eating fatty food (fast food e.t.c ) because protein is a healthy food. Also you could do the things most people avoid like eating a second portion of dinner and putting butter on your food.

I would say:
#1. Meat...even so-called low fat meats.
#2. Fats...meat fats more so than vegetable fats.
#3. Lots of dairy foods...My Dad always drank all the milk that we kids did not drink. That was a lot, as one cow can easily give 14 quarts of milk morning and night when fresh! He got a "milk belly".
#4. Junk foods. The more fats/saturated fats/etc. fats/salt (sodium) and sugar, the more the weight gain.
WARNING: eating this way is NOT healthy! But it is what most Americans eat.

High calorie low fat foods!
Like....
chicken (not fried too often though cause that is not really healthy)
tuna (tuna is great lotsa protein)
peanut butter (sooo good for you soo many calories too)
fruit juices (100% juice is best)
low fat dairy stuff (yougart, milk)
sweet fruits like figs, grapes, mango and papaya
