Through what facts?
What evidence is there?

Yes. He was an Indian prince. If you're curious, read Buddhist texts.

I'd like to point out that it doesn't matter if the Buddha ever existed. His teachings don't require his existence. They simply give one a way to understand and alleviate the inevitable suffering that everyone experiences during their lifetime.

Story Of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha

They say he was real, there appears to be no facts, or true evidence.

Just the statues made in his honour. Remember though, Siddhartha Gautama only claimed to be a man, and nothing more. He is not a god, and did not claim divinity.

Yes.

Maybe it's just me but the wording of your questions seem to indicate a doubt about Buddha's existence.
It seems you're trying to equate the pure philosophy of Buddhism to the sentimental promises and threats and or Carrots and Sticks of xianity.
There are NO Carrots and Sticks in Buddhism.

I've put a Wikipedia link below but if you're not happy with that you can do your own investigation.
The Buddha in Buddhism relied on the impact and teachings of Buddha himself.
The Jesus in xianity relied on the impact and teachings of Saul of Tarsus without whom xianity woulda died along with hundreds of other religions.

...hes real in the hearts of the believers...
jks :P (well really, he is, but thats prolly not the answer you're lookin' for)
there are the Buddist Texts that validates his existance (though I dunno if any old dude just decided to write all that by himself... but if you approach the question with that skeptic attitude, then all of history might as well be made up...)
there are also many biographies on him... where he was born, (apparantely in what we know today as Nepal), and his folks were rulers of that area... so alot is known about him...
(and cmon- if someone made all that up... then wow... that somebody must've not had much else to do with his or her life...)

Yes. We know from historical sources, the same way we know about Pericles, Themistocles, Jesus, Julius Cesar, Henry the 8th or George Washington!

No dear.
He was not real.

Ask the fanatically bent Christian and he will prove it to you by showing that there is no mention of a Buddha in the Bible.
