well it sounds cruel but alchol is actually a poison to your body, being drunk is the reaction to that poison. Your heartrate jumps because your body is recognising a threat and trying to deal with it. It's natural

alcohol increases blood pressure, although no doc really seems to know how, but it does. it may be due to the effect alcohol has on the kidneys, which help regulate blood pressure. increased blood pressure=increased heart rate. 1st answerer is correct, alcohol is a poison....literally as well as figuratively

EDIT - here, i found a link for you (because someone is answering that it doesn't raise blood pressure - what a fool!)

The answers above mine sound really retarded.

Alcohol causes vasoconstriction so you should be experiencing a LOW heart rate. If you mix drinks though it may do a lot of weird things, i tried Tylenol and vodka once and had to have my stomach pumped.

alcohol acts as a stimulant at first increasing your heart rate, and then after a few drinks becomes a depressant.

My guess would be because alcohol thins your blood. But, you may have an allergy to something in the drink.

everybody reacts to alcohol differently. for some, they become very slow/mellow. for others, it makes them somewhat hyper/flush. you happen to be on the hyper/flush side. it's all good.
