I don't believe in Jesus. I am a pagan. It's my holiday season.. as it has been for thousands of years. It is the time of the Winter Solstice, and all of the popular traditions that you claim for "christmas" are pagan..
Decorated trees, mistletoe, gift-giving, the rebirth of the sun-god, lighted candles, feasting, et al.. ALL PAGAN.

I think it's weird that you claim to believe in a God who says that only HE can declare a day holy, and yet you declare that one holy when he didn't.. he also warns you not to follow the pagans, yet you do. I think that's MORE than weird, to say the least.

I'm Christian but my church doesn't celebrate Christmas as the birthday of Jesus. We honor the savior every day, and that means his birth and death.

We do observe Christmas as a fun holiday, one in which we have the opportunity to be reminded of Jesus, even if we don't treat it as a religious holiday. It is a time of giving and being happy and reconciling and that's something we can all use a little more of.

For the pagans and atheists who answered, if you find something positive in this holiday it doesn't matter where it came from. It's still something positive.

In the words of Tiny Tim in Dickens' "A Christmas Carole," God bless us each and every one.

It's kind of hard to not believe in God and not "do" Christmas. I have no reliable means of time travel to skip a full 24 hours. If you know someone who has a second-hand TARDIS for sale, I'll happily go and "do" July 4th twice instead or something.

christmas is NOW a secular holiday...

Orginally it was a PAGAN holiday, the short ownership that your religion had on it was not even relevent...
