Dear pgd,

i actually attended the Crystal Cathedral for a couple of months and found their theology to be very weak (not too much Bible...) and their beliefs are a little (health-wealth gospel).

However, i will say that some of their things like: The Glory of Christmas, Glory of Easter,... have done some good in terms of sharing God with the community...

It's a beautiful Cathedral and in some ways overly eccentric. Overall i would say it's a seeker-friendly church as opposed to a Bible-centered church... but perhaps that is an appeal to some people- i think Paul said it well in Corinthians when he was saying that as long as the gospel is being spread (by all means). The Crystal Cathedral is definitely not the church for me- but i'm thankful for the people they are able to reach.

Kindly,

Nickster

Couldn't find an FAQ on the site so I have no idea what flavour of Christianity it is to comment, but as a building, yeuk. I much prefer old European cathedrals. Now those are real architecture.

To be a house of God...it has to have an altar for the communion...and communion being the very body and blood of Christ...if it doesn't have that...then it is a convention center...that houses events for those that believe in Jesus Christ..but would not be considered a house of God. You have to have Apostolic Succession when it comes to be a true Ecclesia. So...it is a place to fellowship and hear about God..which is nice...but to participate in God..in the Eucharist.? nope.

Just think of all the poor, hungry, uneducated, underclothed that could have been fed, educated, and clothed with that ridiculus waste of money. This building is ethically different from Jesus throwing the moneylenders out of the temple how?

Beautiful, and why not? Do all the beautiful buildings have to house non believers?

How many poor and hungry could have been fed with the millions of dollars it took to build that?

God may well use it in some way...to reach some... but... that was not the real reason it was built... just another of the scams to bilk the lost and hurting masses.
