HELP, for about 2-3 mo. now , i have been getting a lot of very painful, charlie horses in my calfs, and a whole lot of spasams in my toes, and feet, for no apparant reasons, they hurt like all heck, and are not fast to go away! i don't know why i am getting them or how to stop them, ANY SUGGESTIOS???????

i get really bad charlie horses at nite sum times and its usually because im extremely dehdyrated
my suggestion when it happens put some salt on the tip of ur tongue i dont kno why but it works and it helps soothe the pain.
oh and drink sum more water trust that should help

I have been woken up with them in my legs was told a vitamin deficiency, drink milk ,eat a banana or like I do a vitamin every day.

Quite often muscle cramps and spasms are simply lack of fluids. I had similar problems when working in hot humid climates, I increased my water intake and like magic they stopped.

try taking patassum plus a multi vitiman. or eat some bananas. usualy when you get charlie horses you are low on patassium

Are you getting plenty of exercise? If so, you might try nice warm baths. They can be very soothing for the muscles. Good luck.

u can go thru a whole lot of test & u will find u r potastium is low,i did,buy over the counter,&1 a day,i still have em,but its cause i 4got to take

potassium is a good way to get rid of cramps, grapefruit juice and bananas (not at the same time) work for me, I sweat alot and get them bad, the grapefruit juice works the fastest.

maybe you're lacking potassium. that happens to me sometimes,if i just eat a bunch of bananas over the next few days it will stop. =)

well i dont think theres much to worry about......its usualy from not stretching yourself before exercise.....if you get a cramp just grab your foot where the cramp is and stretch it back towards your shin......i like to let them go i enjoy the pain...ime funny like that.....oh oh another secret out.......cheers ...seamanab x
