You don't mention which kind of food you give them - wet or dry, but if dry, you can try feeding her a bit of wet food and see if she does the same thing. If a hairball, you can also give her some butter - mine will steal it from the butter dish, but a former cat would only eat it after I smeared it on his paw. The greasiness of the butter can help her pass the hairball (you can also get hairball remedies at pet stores). If it is a hairball, she should be trying to dislodge it at other times, not just after she eats. Do you see her doing "dry heaving?" - a deep cough like motion that makes her entire sides contract and her tongue stick out? If so, I'd say it's probably a hairball. Otherwise, you really should take her to the vet. If she is vomiting every time she eats, she is obviously not getting any nutrition into her system and can become weak very quickly. She may have gotten into something she shouldn't have (one of my cats ate christmas gift ribbon once), and only a vet could solve it.

I believe what is wrong with your cat may very well be the same thing that happened to mine. He did not eat or drink for a few days and finally I picked him up and took a look at him and I saw a little thin green thing in his nose. I took some tweezers and pulled it out and saw that it was a piece of grasss that had gotten lodged in his nose when I pulled it out it was almost a foot long. He was fine after that.

All of those signs (breathing heavily, not drinking, not eating) are signs of pain so it could be anything. Take him to your vet to find out what is causing it.

It could be many things. Your cat needs to see a vet NOW. Not eating or drinking are life threatening reguardless of what is causing it.

Could be FIV......fluid around the lungs.....etc.
Heavy breathing can signal a lot of things. Your cat needs to be evaluated by a vet, the sooner the better.

It could be anything. You need to take the cat to the Vet ASAP. It could be an upper respiratory infection or worse. Don't play around with this, it could be serious.
