My little cavalier king charles absolutely adores playing with balloons, but of course they burst within 5 minutes. Does anyone know of any balloons that are tougher to burst or something similar? I bought her a beach ball but she isn't keen, as she likes to bounce the balloon in the air on her nose! Any ideas gratefully received as it is costing me a fortune in balloons!

How about those Teather (sp?) Ball Balloons. I don't know if thats what they're called but they are thicker and can be find with helim. They are a balloon that you tie a rubber band of some sort to one end and hit with a fit. You can find them in a party store.

I dont know if this will work, but its just an idea. Try putting the balloon inside a plastic bag. It might protect it a little and keep the parts from bursting and going down the dogs throat.

Balloons are not safe toys for dogs! If you think they are costing you a fortune having to buy new ones, wait till you get the vet bill for a bowel obstruction surgery when your little dog swallows one that she has popped. ( or when you have to bury her after she chokes to death on one) Serious! Take the balloons away and get her to refocus on a tennis ball or a Kong or something else...PLEASE!!!

i have a terrier that loves balloons and i was afraid of her choking on them so we showed her bubbles she now thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread plus it gives you the chance to interact with her more than a ball or balloon we have great fun with them

Perhaps you could try filling the beach ball with helium. Many stores sell small helium tanks for birthday parties and such, so you could keep this around to refill the ball when it stops floating.
