First of all never hit your cat. Cats don't understand wrong from right. What seems annoying to you is normal to cats. Cats are creatures that operate on instinct and just do what seems natural in that moment. Cats have a language all their own and its your job to figure out what works when teaching kitty his or her boundaries. Use praise as much as possible. If you reward the cat frequently for good behavior, they will continue to do what you find acceptable because it is favorable to them...they know they will be given a treat.

In order to teach your kitten/cat the name you have chosen for him/her just keep calling him by that name. Whenever you pet, play, cuddle, feed or praise call him by his name. They will soon answer to it as it becomes familiar...just like when you were a baby. Your parents continued to call you by your name so that is what you answer to it now.

Training a cat requires a lot of patience, discipline and courage. If you are going to let your cat outdoors, then you automatically risk the chance of it running away, being hit by a car or taken in by someone else. If your cat runs out when the door opens then don't run after him, if you do...this becomes a game. Instead, clap your hands and call its name. Eventually they will come back to you simply because you own the food and water and naturally they know you will be feeding them. Theres certain things cats don't forget and that is where their food is, who is nice to them and where they feel safe. If you provide a safe home, maintain a positive training method and feed them properly. You don't have to worry, your cat will return if it is able to.

1. No spanking, use a squirt bottle with water. This works wonders.
2. The cat will get used to their name in time.
3. If the food is in the house it will come back in. I made an outside cat an inside one 12 years ago. Just don't let them out.
4. Continuing with #3, just block them or take them to a different part of the house and make a run for it. Sooner or later they give up.

1. is it okay to spank your cat?if no, then why? Never hit an animal, they don't understand and they will come to fear you instead of love you. you can get a spray bottle and fill it with plain water and when you see the cat doing something it shouldn't, spray it with the water, after a few times of that the cat will start to associate the squirt of water when they do that and cats don't like to be wet and the squirt is enough of a distraction too.

2. How do you tame your cat so that it comes to you if you call his/her name? start calling your cat by it's name durring feeding times and play times. get out some treats and start saying their name and give them a treat and keep this up and they will eventually learn their name and associate their name with treats.

3How do you make a cat a outside cat?how you make him/her come back to the house? I would not recomend doing this cats are happier, healthier and live longer if they are indoor cats. you can have toys and scratch posts and things to keep them occupied inside. if you want your cat to go outside from time to time, leash train it (yes it can be done, start early, I have succesfully leash trained my 2 cats)

4hOW YOU TRAIN A CAT TO NOT RUN OUTSIDE(my cat runs out every time we open the door, and she knows when we try to catch her and runs away from our reach? is there a buffer zone in your house like an attached garage or an enclosed porch? that's the most ideal way to always have one door closed to the outside. if you have a room that you can make into a cats play room you can put your cat in there when you go places, make sure to have at least one scratch post, some toys water and a litter box. if this isn't doable. then train her not to go near the door by EVERY time you see her going towards the door spray her with a squirt bottle and eventually she will get the idea.

good luck!

1. No because it's ridiculously cruel and the animal won't understand why you're beating it. If you feel the need to strike your cat please surrender to someone who'll treat it with respect and love.

2. Give it lots of love and kindness and patting. If you've been beating your cat that's probably why it doesn't want to come to you.

3. Why would you want to? The outdoors is very dangerous for cats. Do you want this cat to live 15-20 years or only 2-5? Keep it indoors - http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?action=library&act=show&item=indoorsoroutdoors

4. Don't just open the door wide with the cat there. Carefully open it and step out without letting the cat out. If the cat really is persistent about getting out the door buy a baby gate that you can easily step over. This obviously won't prevent the cat from getting out if you leave it wide open - they can jump over it - but he won't be able to sneak past your feet.

1. Don't spank your cat. They won't understand, and they are much too small and fragile. Yell NO at them, move them from furniture they're scratching to a scratching post, etc. Cats don't like loud noises--mine just ran away from my sneezes.
2. Food. Condition your cat to their name by calling your cat when you feed it. Call the name, then shake the food, or open the fridge. Call FIRST. Get your cat to associate you calling their name with food or treats. When your cat comes when you call it, give it the food, or give it petting and attention. Cats are never really tamed, but they will come when called.
3. Cats are better off being indoor cats, particularly if front claws have been removed. Don't let a cat outdoors until it has been in your home for some time. Cats don't like change. Put a small bowl of food and water by your back door for it.
4. Some cats are determined to go outside, no matter what you do. You need to look each time you prepare to open the door, Yell NO at the cat and keep them from the door with your feet. Don't chase her if she gets out. I leave mine and say, I'm going to be gone a long time, and it's your problem NOT mine. Usually waiting when I return, eager to get inside.

Every time your cat comes to you call them by name and pet them.

1. A good way to teach a cat that it is doing somethign wrong is to squirt it with water from a spray bottle. I don't think they understand spanking--they may consider it a playing.
2. Everytime you talk to your cat--use its name--when you are picking it up, petting it, etc. It will get used to the sound of the name (and the sound of your voice saying it).
3. the best way is to have a cat door, so it can come in and out when it wants to. And if it knows there's food inside, it will come back, believe me.
4. That's hard--see answer #3.

1. No, you'll only wind up with a cat who's afraid of you. Use your voice, not your strength.

2. The cat has to learn his name first, and in all truth, cats won't always come when they're called. They're not as obedient as dogs.

3. You slowly get the cat adjusted to the outdoors, while supervised. Preferably on a leash/harness until you feel he understands the boundaries.

4. Consider purchasing a baby gate to block off the front door.

1. Don't ever hit your cat. It will get very quite and scared.
2.Dogs are more into coming when you call them. But get your cat used to his or her name.
3.that depends if you want and inside or outside cat. I think id let mine be both. If you want an outside cat get a cat flap (or dog door) so it can get inside to sleep. Then just teach it to use it.
4. It will just take time for it to learn.......
animals are like kids.
Hope some of my answers can help.
Good luck
