Actually Scientology does believe in God.
Quote from the scientology site:
“We of the Church [of Scientology] believe: .... That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.... And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.” (L. Ron Hubbard, from The Creed of the Church of Scientology, 1954)
“For instance, although, like the Judeo-Christian religions Scientology affirms the existence of a Supreme Being and places the Supreme Being at the apex of its cosmology, like many Eastern religions, salvation in Scientology is attained through personal spiritual enlightenment.” Also from their website: “Scientology holds man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself and his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.”
And many religions have no god. Confucianism, buddhism, zen, taoism, jainism. shinto.

It’s something about aliens. I think they believe that aliens put us here.
If you have time, there are some fabulous South Park episodes on the subject. (And I realize some people don’t like the show because they can’t see the satire behind it all…)
If you want to watch them, there’s “Trapped in the Closet” which makes fun of Tom Cruise: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=south+park+episode+912&spell=1
And “The Return of Chef” where the “Super Adventure Club” is named in place of Scientology. This episode was their response to Isaac Hayes leaving the show citing his “religion” as a reason. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=south+park+Episode+140

A religion doesn't need to have the concept of a god to be a religion.
