I'm not a discriminate person, but really, why do Christians want to make everyone else part of their religion?! It's kind of irritating sometimes. It's not that hard to not worry about what everyone else is doing. If some Christians would just learn to love, maybe they'd end up in heaven, like they want to. And I'm NOT Athiest. Don't assume so just because I want to say something on the ongoing discriminative subject. It's just irritating how some people have the NERVE to say some of the things they do. Every other religion does a better job in loving everyone else than the many Christians in the world. Could WE just go to heaven? We follow the rules better than the Christians do! I don't want to hear rude responses. If you have an INTELLIGENT answer, then go ahead, but if it's discriminatory then I don't want to hear it. I know that this question WASN'T what you would call NOT discriminate, but really? Can't I just say SOMETHING?

JEEZE people, didn't I say in the QUESTION THAT I KNOW THIS QUESTION IS DISCRIMINATE IN ITSELF?! I KNOW IT IS! I DON'T LIKE TO COMPLAIN ON OTHER'S RELIGION, BUT CHRISTIANS DO TRY TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD IF YOU'RE NOT CHRISTIANS, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENTIRE QUESTION BEFORE YOU ATTACK ME, PEOPLE! AND I KNOW THEIR SELVES IS INCORRECT, IT WAS A TYPE-O, I MEANT TO CORRECT IT, BUT I FORGOT. THAT'S NOT THE POINT OT THE QUESTION!

Some fundamentalists have for whatever reason chosen to ignore Jesus's preeminent command to us -- Love one another as I have loved you -- and instead focused on "Convert the nations." They sincerely believe that forcing you into their beliefs is more important than loving.

Preaching down to people is always easier than humbly loving them for who they are, so that seems to be their expedient choice.

BTW, the Christians I know (who are not fundamentalists) can't be bothered to nit-pick on others. They're too busy minding their own spiritual business by loving as Jesus asked us to.

Well I think in some ways your right but then again you are also discriminating by saying all Christians in general, so yeah it isn't right for anyone to push a religion on you but some religions teach you to push the word of GOD so that all of the earth can hear. That is why some Christians do what they do but not all of them do that and Christians are not the only ones also Jehovah witnesses and Mormons. So you really can't say Christians it is basically many different religions that do this so I say to each his own and if you want to except than except if not than don't!!

I am sorry that you have had so many bad experiences with Christians. Christians, as well as other religions that I know of, are supposed to share their faith and beliefs with others. That's what the Bible tells them to do. Some just don't know the correct way to do it and end up beating people over the head with the Scriptures.

Just in case you're curious, yes, I am a Christian. My faith and beliefs run very deep. I am also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and have learned through the program, tolerance for other people's beliefs. Not everyone believes like I do, but I have found, in the program as well as real life, that I have many things in common with others regardless of religious and spiritual differences.

Why do some (not all) nitpick? Because it is more important for them to be right than to love. And I disagree about other religions. Look at the world now. Not all religions are tolerant and loving. (Iraq, Osama, and the Jihad).

I guess my point is, is that all religions and faiths have their good and their bad. I respect the Athiest, Agnostic, the Jew, the Muslim, the Buddhist and other Christians. I respect the Gay and the Lesbian. I do not have to necessarily believe as they do. I give them the right to choose how they believe and how they live just as God allows them free will to choose and live as they believe. Would I like all to believe like me? I don't know. What I do know is I share my faith with those who ask me to and I choose to love and accept others who do not.

I choose not to judge others. That is up to God. I have learned to truly love people as God created them also and loves them regardless. I pray for God's will in other's lives and leave the results up to God. Besides, I have enough work to do on me without trying to beat people up and judge their lives.

I hope this helps. Not all Christians are nasty. I hope the if you do not have a God that you understand that you find one. I have found that when I can't count on people, I can count on God and I am never alone.

You can say whatever you like. It's okay with me. I understand your irritation with certain types of people who call themselves Christians. It is a common problem. You must understand though, that the word Christian does not have the meaning it once did. It has been corrupted by pedophile priests, war mongering preists and things like the Inqusition. It takes more than calling oneself a Christian to actually be one. This is a missed point that many who claim to be don't understand. I for one am not a Christian because I don't wish to be lumped in with these twisted souls. I do believe in Christ and His Father, but I want no part of the man made orginizations that call themselves Christian organizations. One can be Christ-like without being a Christian as you pointed out about other religions.

True followers of Christ though do feel an obligation to spread the word about Christ, it is a biblical based view. Many however again become over-zealous in their efforts, so much so that they actually turn people off. Another example of humen imperfection. However, Christ did say that many will not want to hear and accept him, so that's cool.

If anyone nit-picks you then you need to address the matter to the person right away because that's arrogant and rude. But as far as Christians acting as though they have the main answer of life and want to tactfully/nicely tell you what it is and why they believe it, then I say 'great'. I'm glad people still care about other people even if it means being unpopular with some. Couldn't they be right? What if they are right? Have you actually looked into their reasons for their strong beliefs? I don't think you have. And if you're tired of the message then tell the person this. They'll respect your feelings.

After a bit of thought, I believe that there is one very basic reason for it. The most priveleged areas in the world are North America (save for Mexico), Australia, and Europe. The Middle East, Africa, Asia, and other relatively poor areas of the world are dominated by religions other than Christianity. Now as a 'Non-practicing' Christian, I do see what your saying in some cases. (e.g. The door to door people drive me crazy.) But the majority of Christians, (though possibly believing themselves superior subliminaly) couldn't care too much less about what religion other people practice. For the ones who do however, the only reasonable idea that comes to mind is that they believe they are superior due to physical items over spiritual items. Also, I believe other people see it the way you do, the Christian population is declining at a steady pace, and has been for a number of years.

Hope this helped!

I think thats pretty unfair, its not just Christians. hey are killing people in the middle east because of it. Whats the big deal about saying Merry Christmas, now you have to say Happy Holidays so you dont offend people. I dont think that its the religion so much as people in general are idiots and have to complain about insignificant crap. Dont pay attention to all the real issues oout there, as long as we dont say one nation under GOD, all other problems will go away. Im not religous but very spiritual, I seem to find the beauty in all expressions of God. The problem with ALL (almost) religions is the belief that you are wrong if you worship otherwise, some are just not as vocal about it as others.

Well, I am an atheist and I don't feel that ALL Christians "nit-pick." I have more understanding for the ones who say what they have to say and move on. It's the ones who feel they have the duty to "beat" their beliefs into your system. I'm not sure if people (not just Christians) realize that the way you live is more of an example than any words you could ever say.

Truth be told, you may as well be one of the Christians that you complain about. Your behavior in your post is very similar to theirs. You want to say what you have to say about them, and then demand that people not respond to you in a certain way. That, my dear, is called hypocrisy.

Calm down sweetie. Breathe, ok? It's not only Christians. There are good people and bad people of ALL religions. Every religion I've ever encountered, has people in it who think that THEY are the only ones going to heaven and that ALL other religions are going to hell. You just need to stop saying that "Christians" are the only people who nit pick. It just isn't so. I know of a specific Muslim family who think that ALL Christians are evil and all Jews are evil too. It just isn't so. People in general need to stop generalizing. It's not "everyone" of any faith. It's people of all faiths that do this. I do agree that it's not right to do, but as long as we have free will, people will think and do as they please. I don't know what else to say. *peace* :o)

Not all Christians are alike. I have met some who are kind, compassionate, and respectful. I have known others whose opinions are obnoxious and in-your-face. It is true that evangelist Christians want to spread the word of God for all to hear, but for the most part it is driven out of love for their fellow man.

I understand your frustration with those who seem rude., Being rude and/or condescending are the antithesis of Christianity and should be avoided. When I find myself in the company of the latter, I simply turn the other cheek.

Hmmm...well you could throw Mormon's and Jehova's Witness' in there unless you are counting them as part of that Christian group. I've never had a "regular" Christian knock on my door. Yes, I agree, it's annoying as all can when everyone wants to preach to you about their religion instead of just saying, "Hey, if you have questions, you can ask, have a nice day." That wouldn't bug me so much.

But to say pretty much ALL Christians do that is BS. I sure as hell don't go spouting off my religion to others nor do I judge others who have a different faith. So your gripe is pretty much a discriminatory observation of a basic religion that is broken off into many sects. You are attacking a basic religion instead of breaking it down. So you're going to get angry responses. Don't expect a non discriminatory answer for a discriminatory observation.
