"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." -Albert Einstein

Science and religion only become two opposing 'sides' when some jerk starts attacking one of them, and then claims that he's fighting in the name of the other.

Some of the greatest minds in the history of mankind have been religious scientists. Anyone who tries to tell you they're fundamentally opposed is selling you something.

Firstly, as I hold a Science Degree in 'Sports Science', I guess that makes me a Scientist; however I do believe that the Universe has a consciousness & Intelligence much greater than any Man's.

Oh yeah, and I do not follow any of Man's Religions.

2001 & 2010 are two of the most well known Religious & Scientific Films ever made, although there are most likely some closed minded Scientists & Religionists out there who would disagree with me, or even wish to crucify me for saying so.

The Monolith's dimensions in the films are 1 by 4 by 9 (Squares of 1, 2 & 3) 123 = GOD

Arthur C. Clarke brought Science & Spirituality together, and it works...

Any Scientist (e.g. Richard Dawkins) who claims that GOD does not exist is a Bad Scientist, as Science, as far as I’m aware, has not yet disproved the existence of GOD.

Likewise, any Religious person (e.g. The Creationist) who believes the Earth & the Universe to be less than 10,000 years old, and does not accept the hard evidence of Evolution & Starlight, is a FOOL – look what the Roman Catholic Church did to Galileo Galilei for claiming that the Earth circles the SUN

I support both. There are so many things and so much stuff about this world/ universe that I believe that there is definitely room for BOTH science and religion to play a role in the "going ons." . It's impossible to say that everything is on one "side" or able to all be explained by one or the other.
Besides, since there is such a thing as "science" then if you believe in God and that he created all things and everything, then he must have technically created science too, if not just to help mankind find out the answers to why some things "just are." Do you see what I'm saying?
At least I think so.

What makes you think there's a conflict?

Science does not attempt to answer any questions about the existance or non-existance of God.
God, if He exists, does so outside the normal physical universe, and is therefore *not* open to investigation by science (which concerns itself solely with the physical universe).

The scientific method is a set of tools used to describe and explain the real world. All religions are made up of dogmas that dictate a particular world view whether it agrees with the evidence or not.

I choose reality.

Science and Religion actually don't contradict each other, one is based on facts and one on faith. If you have to believe in science then it's not science and if you try to base religion purely on fact without belief then it is not religion. Science attempts to explain the world. Regilion, everything beyond.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Science is a process of empirical inquiry. Religion is a meditative practice of reflection on one's experiences. However, Science is irrelevant in the absence of a means of observationof a given phenomena and Religion turns into delusion when it is not grounded in salient tangible phenomena.

Religion is not against science. They are not adversaries. In Islam science and religion are partners.

Science looks for answers, Religion claims to have ALL the answers. Science wins for me.
